Wear Sunscreen (And Other Useful Advice)

For me this is a different thing to share. I was listening to the Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack the other day, a way to remind me of positive memories of the past (I used to love listening to that soundtrack as a teenager and I loved the movie) and I came across a song I always adored. The reason why I loved it so much was for its lyrics. All these many years later, listening to these lyrics once again, I realised still how useful and relevant they are. So, I wanted to share them with you.  These words were originally written by Chicago Tribute Journalist Mary Schmich and then used by Baz Luhrmann for the Romeo And Juliet Soundtrack.   Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it A long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by…

Can What We Wear Impact How We Feel In Iso?

I don’t know about you, but my days in iso are spent either in gym clothes or t-shirts and shorts. The Silver Linings

At first, we kept using words like surreal and unprecedented, watching the news and wondering when someone would say it was all just a joke. Now, it seems reality has set in. I was fortunate enough to be a bit ahead of the game and started isolating some time ago. Being immunosuppressed, I am used to taking quick actions to keep myself safe. When things starting to ramp up with this virus, both me and my partner has some big decisions to make, one was getting me out of Sydney and somewhere where I could be safe. It was not an easy decision and many tears were had. But I have now settled into my “for the time being” life and doing what I do best, analysing and watching how the world and those around me are responding to this crisis.   I was maybe going to wait a little…

Why I’m a Birthday Brat And Why You Should be One Too

I’m a big birthday person, always have been. It runs in my family. I think some people must look at us and think we are a little crazy (which we are). Growing up my mother always put on fantastic parties for me and my brother. And on the morning of our birthdays, she would decorate the living room with posters and balloons and have lots of presents for us to open. Not in a spoilt way, but she would find any little thing that she could wrap up so we would get the excitement of unwrapping gifts. She would make a big deal of our special day and celebrate it as much as she could. And even though we are no longer kids, she continues this tradition every year. As soon as I got to the age where I could use a credit card, I did the same for her,…
