50 Shades Of Grey For Mother's Day

What did you get your Mother for Mother’s Day? Well besides some other goodies, I also got her a copy of the book,  50 Shades Of Grey by E. L.  James.   I had heard the reviews and I must admit it did peak my attention. It sounded like porn for female in a book. After my good friend in the US told me she  could not put it down, I decided it was time to give it a go. When purchasing my copy the other day I thought, why not give my Mother a copy too. ( This is what happens when you have a Sexologist as a daughter).   For those of you who have not heard about the book ( and might be living under a rock with no TV or internet), it has been described as a bestselling erotic fiction notable for it’s explicitly erotic scenes…

Is The Catholic Church Ruining Our Fantasy Of Prince Charming?

It’s not a hidden fact that things are changing in the dating game. Women are becoming stronger and wanting more out of life than just children and babies. We now want it all, but we still want to find prince charming and want our happy ending.   I have a job that is intimidating to many men , but it does not still  take away the hope that one day prince charming will come on his white horse and rescue me. The Catholic Church seems to disagree with me saying that, “ Women…

The Sexy Side To Febfast

When I got asked to be an ambassador for this year’s febfast, I wondered why on earth they wanted a Sexologist and Relationship Expert to promote their cause. Then I started to think about how drinking had impact on my own experiences…   Looking back, there have been times where alcohol-induced confidence encouraged me towards the wrong man at the wrong time. There have also been times where my confidence was so low that my aim was to boost it with the bottle.  I can tell you from first-hand experience that confidence from Cosmos does not last forever and eventually rubs off (often when the sun starts to rise). Maybe having a Sexologist on board isn’t such a bad idea after all!   What do I think about drinking and sex? Well, it’s never a good mix – regardless of how many cocktails and shots refer to sex. One or…

Too Many Questions

When you first begin seeing someone, everyone always has questions. In my personal and professional opinion I think there is too much focus on these questions and not enough of how two people make each other feel. Here are ten of the most common questions and why they shouldn’t matter:   1. What does he/she do? This is one of those things that people want to know first up. Are you dating a drug dealer or a high profile politician or a stripper? Apparently jobs define the person these days? Some jobs do but not all! Take my profession for example. Yes I am a Sexologist but that does not make me a sex worker ( not that there is anything wrong with sex work) or even mean I have a lot of sex. I would like to hope when people meet me that my job does not define who…
